Team building is one of the most important responsibilities of a leader. It is an ongoing process to be facilitated and guided. As a result , most organizations are recognizing the importance of team building and are trying to foster it in the workplace.
Steps to build a productive and effective team
1: Establish leadership.
2: Establish relationships with each of the employees.
3: Build relationships between employees.
4: Foster teamwork.
5: Set ground rules for the team.
Building an effective team
For a team to be effective, its members must be united with the same vision and be motivated to bring that vision to work. Clear, measurable goals must be shared, and be committed to play their part in the overall success of the group.
How to build and maintain a strong, cohesive and effective team
1. Define the purpose
A clear, inspiring vision should be provided.
2. Assemble the team
Achieving a good balance of personality types will enable the group to work effectively
3. Determine the goals
Manageable goals and tasks with agreed deadlines, milestones and responsibilities should be provided.
4. Set expectations

Regularly review the group’s performance through team meetings .That allows for adjustments and improvements to be incorporated along the way.
6. Celebrate and reward
Recognize, reward and celebrate both team and individual performance.

In my working place ,ABC Bank is consisted of nearly 10000 employees to be worked as teams in 630 branches. From General Manager to the minor staff member, the team work must be continued for each and every tasks given to be completed.There, Shared leadership reinforces a sense of shared responsibility and increases morale and team performance.
However It can be concluded that ,Building effective teams through creating team values and goals, as well as evaluating team performance with individual performance can be affected positively to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization .
